Garmin 910XT Battery Life

I'm currently using a Garmin 910 XT to record my data.  One thing I have noticed recently is the battery display you get when switching off the device is a little misleading.



The picture on the left is the display I got before my run on Friday night.  The picture on the right is the view before my run on Sunday.  Between to two pictures I ran for two and a half hours and then swtiched the watch off between runs and no charging.  I believe the empty battery image happens at around 15% - 20%.

My Sunday run was 90 mins and the watch did bleep to alert me of the low battery  (10%) during this run.  But but even after my run the battery had only reduced to 7%.  Between getting the empty battery and finishing my Sunday run I had run for 240 mins in all and still had 7% battery left.

Long Over Due Post

It's been literally years since my last post.  The main update is Mel's treatment has been successful and she had the all clear for 5 years now.  Which is a massive relief.  I'll probably post again about this but to be honest its a distance memory now and we're always enjoying life right now. We've also moved house in this time and have been in the new house nearly 3 years now. I'm planning on adding to the blog with details of trips we've had as well as races and other interesting things we get up to.  So expect to see further updates over the next few weeks including our recent trip to Cornwall as well as previous trips.  I will back date the publish date so they appear approximately when they happened.

Praa Sands - 30/05/23

Today we ventured further afield going to Praa Sands a beautiful wide beach.  Learning from yesterday we set up above the high tide line.     Girls were tired today and a little more lethargic and had brief dips in the sea before sunning themselves. Mel and I had a few games of frisbee and I had a good swim. Afterwards chatting to one of the lifeguards who talked about the area he covers for the season.     He could cover anywhere from Praa sands to Coverack. He’s only been back in the UK for a month after lifeguard in Australia. The girls and Robert were a little tired and just chilled for some of the time. We had some excellent pasties for lunch and the girls had milkshakes agonising over which of the 22 flavours to choose from.   For the afternoon we headed to Porth Levan and had a lovely Cornish afternoon tea in the Twisted current tea room .    Robert wanted the jumbo fish finger sandwich. Journey to Cornwall - 27/05/23

The journey down began early at 4:30 and I was slightly nervous as thought we had a slow puncture but all seemed fine as we set off in the early morning light. The kids were soon sounds asleep in the back of the car. The plan was to head towards Bristol and find somewhere for breakfast around there. The journey to Bristol was really easy and at around 9:45 we finally made our first stop at a place called Ollie’s Cafe for a full English breakfast. The place was packed already with a steady stream of cars coming in and out. Turns out we’d arrived just in time. Initially we thought the waitress said we couldn’t get a table till 11 but it was we had the table till 11. Robert was very excited and managed to break the salt shaker within a minute of us sitting down.
