Trowse 10k Part 2

What a contrast a week and the clocks going back makes.  Really foggy morning for the second Trowse 10k of 2016.  Again the race was just as enjoyable as earlier in the year.  Registration as before was at Whittlingham dry ski slope centre.

Once numbered up it was off to the start.  Apparently there were 700 starters this year  !

So foggy, the visibility was pretty limited.

As with last week's holt 10k i focus on form and felt I was really gliding along and it felt smooth and consistent.  If anything running downhill was more of a struggle to run comfortably.

The second lap form suffered a bit and I had to really focus to maintain consistency.  The distraction of this was good fun.  I really enjoyed being out in the fog.  I wanted to try and not be overtaken  and this goal was achieved.

As before there were plenty of spectators out cheering everyone which was great to see.  At the 200 to go I opened up my sprint and the increase of pace seemed to help with my form and I felt strong and quick to finish in 48:30  virtually exactly the same time as last week but on a far hillier course.  Great result.

Again the goody bag contained a lot of chocolate and another decent medal.  Will be going for this one next year.

Haven't really got any more races lined up now.  I'm going to enter the Norwich Half in march / april next year.  Between now and then I'm going to be working on improving form and general all round fitness, not just running fitness.
